CHIN IMPLANT

ICING

  • For the first three days, please ice the chin for 20 minutes on and 20 minutes off.

SLEEP ELEVATED TO MINIMIZE SWELLING

  • Swelling is the most prominent three days post procedure.

  • Sleeping elevated using two head pillows and icing are most helpful for swelling.

  • Swelling may cause it to appear asymmetric for the first 4 to 6 weeks.

CARING FOR YOUR INCISIONS

  • Please clean your incisions 2 to 4 times per day, using 1 to 1 ratio of hydrogen peroxide in warm water.

  • Take a Q-Tip and clean directly over the incisions. Once the area is dry, use a clean Q-Tip and apply a thin layer of bacitracin ointment to the incisions.

  • Please keep the foam tape on for 48 hours post procedure. It is normal to feel like sensation is absent in the chin for the first six months.

WHAT TO AVOID AFTER YOUR PROCEDURE

  • After your procedure, please avoid herbal supplements and blood thinners for two weeks, alcohol for one week, and caffeine for two days.

  • Please avoid foods with high cell content for one week.

  • Please avoid direct sunlight for the next six months and avoid exercise the first ten days.
