Physically, the noses of Black patients are structurally different from noses of people of caucasian descent and oftentimes Black patients will need more structural support. Many other surgeons do not note the importance of support and frequently opt for a nose implant, which Dr. Shah strongly advises against. Comparatively, Dr. Shah uses only natural cartilage found in the patient’s own body. Using a patient’s own cartilage significantly reduces the chance of infection and simply looks much more natural. Dr. Shah is one of the few doctors that believes solely in this natural harvesting, truly making him a trailblazer in the world of facial plastics.
